Fat Gold Blue
This is our Fat Gold Blue from the 2022 harvest. This batch is extra delicate, which makes it especially useful in cooking and baking—all those recipes that insist you need to use a “mild” or “neutral” oil. (Remember, you can substitute olive oil for the oil in just about any baking recipe, as well as any baking mix.)
Our 2022 Blue is far from neutral, but, compared to previous batches, it’s definitely more of a team player.
The fruit for this year’s Blue came from ENZO Olive Oil Company, where Kathryn serves as head miller. However, rather than mill the olives on ENZO’s big machine, we sent them over to Patrick Martin at Frantoio Grove, the same place we milled our 2022 Standard.
